Job Overview
South Bend Civic Theatre is searching for teaching artists with a background in theatre, acting, and youth education. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, professional, and capable of managing and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment. An understanding of basic theatre terminology, academic methodology, and best educational practices is a necessity. Candidate also works with children and will be required to pass a background check.

Responsibilities and Duties
Create a safe and supportive atmosphere for participants to explore, grow, and create
Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills
Design and follow lesson plans that promote process over performance
Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Produce daily reports/narratives that are sent to the student’s parent/guardian

Qualifications
Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and two (2) years of theatre training in a theatre conservatory/collegiate program
Must pass a background check
Experience with and has great interpersonal skills and positive demeanor while working with children and peers.
Ability to supervise groups of children of different ages and backgrounds
