House and Facilities Manager (Fulltime, Salary)

Purpose of Position:

This position administers, schedules, and maintains all SBCT front-of-house services during theatre productions, events, and rentals. The House and Facilities Manager is responsible for all personnel pertaining to these services, including catering staff, security, maintenance, cleaning personnel, as well as front-of-house volunteers including, but not limited to, concessions, ushers, and will call.



The House and Facilities Manager's work week will always cover scheduled performances, events, and rentals, with the exception of pre-approved vacation and/or illness. It is the House and Facilities Manager's responsibility to secure reliable coverage for any missed shifts. Shifts will begin no later than one hour before the doors open to the public and continue until the completion of duties connected to each production, event, and/or rental.

Approximate Hourly Breakdown of Duties:

20-25 hours Front-of-House Management (Primary Responsibility)

2-3 hours Front-of-House Training

3-5 hours Concessions

4-6 hours Facilities Management

3-5 hours Rental Management

1-2 hours Tours and Hospitality



Manage and maintain the front-of-house operations for the South Bend Civic Theatre including our historic building and two performance spaces: the 208-seat Wilson Auditorium and 80-seat Warner Studio Theatre. Excellent organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills are required. The position also requires a working knowledge of catering and hospitality services; ticketing software; event reporting; scheduling; inventory and supply management; workplace safety and security; procedure development; and volunteer management, mentorship, and training.
