South Bend Civic Theatre’s Education Academy

We created the Academy to train students entering 2nd through 12th grade to fully immerse and train the next generation of well-rounded actors. We provide in-depth classes in a variety of theatre performing arts, each taught by a variety of instructors ranging from working professionals to award-winning educators. SBCTEA students train in theatre for 24 weeks, one-three days a week. The SBCT faculty works together to develop an integrated curriculum teaching classes in a variety of subjects:

Tuition is $575. Financial Aid is available and does not affect acceptance decisions. Tuition covers the cost of 24 acting sessions as well as two theatre elective classes that are each six weeks long. If an academy student wishes to partake in more than the two required elective classes, an additional $60.00 per elective will be added to your tuition. If a student selects or is required to partake in a private lesson an additional $50 fee will be added to your tuition.

To join SBCTEA a placement audition is required. Your audition helps the faculty to place you in the classes in which will help you grow the most. Please call us at 574-234-1112 to schedule an audition.

All Academy classes require a 50% down payment in full prior to the first class session. Automatic payments can be schedule for the first business day of each month using a major credit card.
