THE HONOREES

Barb and Reg Wagle

Throughout their marriage, Barb has led Reg into her irresistibly creative world of theatre. With nearly a dozen different careers between them (including raising their two sons, Reg Jr. and Joe), there wasn’t a lot of time, but theatre simply refused to go away. Then, Barb led them to the South Bend Civic Theatre. It was here they finally found the enrichment and creative outlet they both craved. Over the past two decades, while they’ve enjoyed a rich life performing on stage, their highest and best use has been in discovering, inviting, introducing, coaching, and encouraging so many others to find their way in this demanding and magical world. The Civic would not be where it is today without the patient and tenacious guidance of Barb and Reg Wagle. It is with the deepest gratitude that we recognize and honor them at the 2019 Gala.

We are thrilled to acknowledge Aaron as the inaugural recipient of our Civic Visionary Award for his embodiment of the spirit and values of the South Bend Civic Theatre, and for making a significant contribution to the growth and vibrancy of our community. He is a visionary leader and the embodiment of our new community-creating mission.
