Sense and Sensibility
Title of Show: Sense and Sensibility
Synopsis: While remaining true to the values and priorities of Jane Austen’s beloved novel, Kat Hamill’s playful new adaptation of SENSE AND SENSIBILITY follows the fortunes (and misfortunes) of the Dashwood sisters – sensible Elinor and romantically sensitive Marianne – after their father’s sudden death leaves them financially destitute and socially vulnerable. Set in gossipy late 18th century England, the play is full of humor and emotional depth, while
examining our reactions, both reasonable and ridiculous, to societal pressures. When reputation is everything, how do you follow your heart?
Director: Dawn Hagerty
Ages Called: Casting ages 18+, with the exception of Margaret Dashwood (character 11-13 years old, but may be played by someone older)
